Rapper DMX Toxicology Report Results
DMX is an iconic rap artist that passed away with a history of addiction. His toxicology results offer a glimpse into his untimely demise.
Drug use can start as a way to escape or ease some aches and pains, but it can quickly make your life worse if you’re not careful and become a dangerous habit and risk accidental death. Different drugs can affect your brain and body in many different ways.
All drugs have their risks of an overdose, but it doubles the risk of an overdose and death when taken together. Drugs taken together can interact in ways that increase their overall effect. For example, many overdoses occur when people mix heroin or prescription opioids and alcohol with benzodiazepines such as Klonopin, Valium, and Xanax. Most fatal overdoses are the result of poly-drug use. Poly-drug use is very common, especially in celebrities that have passed.
Today, more than 34 million people in the United States regularly abuse drugs, according to a SAMHSA report. These choices are spurred by a combination of economic conditions, lifestyle, stress, poverty, upbringing, and even genetics. In addition, the popular lifestyle and the glamorization of the lives of the rich and famous, where drug use and alcohol abuse are common, can also contribute to wider acceptance of drugs.
Celebrities Like DMX Are Not Immune From Addiction
The tragic loss of a renowned celebrity or athlete to a drug or alcohol-related death is an event that often leaves many unanswered questions. Unfortunately, famous and much-loved celebrities have been the victims of such unfortunate circumstances. While many deaths may be due to misuse of illegal substances, these drugs are not always illicit – and an overdose may not always be intentional.
DMX – The Latest Victim of Drug Abuse
DMX was a rapper whose real name was Earl Simmons. He was known to have a substance abuse problem that haunted him and fueled some of his songs. It was reported that DMX died of a cocaine overdose. He had a cardiac arrest or heart attack that left him to brain dead for several minutes before he was found.
An autopsy was not performed because a cause of death had already been determined based on medical professionals and police documentation. They could revive him, but he never came out of a coma because of being brain dead.
Why Did DMX Get Addicted to Cocaine?
The definition of cocaine, according to the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIH) states that:
Cocaine is a powerfully addictive stimulant drug made from the leaves of the coca plant native to South America. Although health care providers can use it for valid medical purposes, such as local anesthesia for some surgeries, recreational cocaine use is illegal.
Cocaine looks like a fine, white crystal powder as a street drug. Street dealers often mix it with cornstarch, talcum powder, or flour to increase profits. They may also mix it with stimulant amphetamine or synthetic opioids, including fentanyl. Adding synthetic opioids to cocaine is especially risky when people using cocaine don’t realize it contains this dangerous additive. Increasing numbers of overdose deaths among cocaine users might be related to this tampered cocaine.
